This creepy and sad book is about a boy named Connor who keeps having the same nightmare. One night he wakes up from his dream and sees a monster. The monster tells Connor three stories then Connor must tell the fourth.
I liked this book because the author describes things so well, for example the part where the monster comes alive from the tree. The illustrations add to the creepyness of the story.

Bigger than a Breadbox by Laurel Snyder--Anthony A.
This book is about a girl who moves to her Grandmother’s house with her Mom after her parents have problems. She is mad at her Mom for leaving her Dad. In the attic she finds a bread box that grants (almost) every wish. But she wonders where this stuff comes from.
I liked this book because there is a lot of suspense.

Miss Spitfire: Reaching Helen Keller by Sarah Miller---Patricia
It’s about how Helen Keller’s teacher, Annie Sullivan, taught Helen that words have meanings. However her parents won’t let Annie discipline her because they don’t want to see her cry. Helen is blind and deaf which makes teaching her even harder. In the end the book is really about how Annie overcomes problems with Helen, and teaches her that everything has a meaning.
I liked it because it was a good story on how life is without words.
