Chime by Franny Billingsley

The book Chime is about a girl named Briony. She has a secret that killed her stepmother and mangled her little sister Rose’s mind. Eldric is the new boy in town who becomes friends with Briony. When he comes, he doesn’t believe that there is nothing wrong. Briony wants to get rid of her secret but she does not want to take the risk of being hanged because her secret is dangerous and she would be punished. Her sister Rose knows her secret because the old ones told her about it. The old ones are the spirits of people who are dead.

I think people will like this book because it is a wild story with a little bit of romance. This story is complicated which makes it more interesting to read. It will keep you focused.

Eon: Dragoneye Reborn by Alison Goodman --Kevin

Eon: Dragoneye Reborn is about a girl named Eona who is chosen to become a dragoneye apprentice. A dragoneye has the power of one of the twelve dragons of the Chinese cycle. In the world of dragoneyes, women are believed to have no power. To train to become a dragoneye, eona disguises herself as a boy. When Eona is sent through training the people who know her secret have no hope for her to win. The dragon must pick its next dragoneye from watching a ceremony in which twelve competitors perform complicated sword-fighting moves. What I really liked about the book is that it has a lot of action. It kept me reading well past midnight. I have to say, it is one of the best books ever written.

Hero by Mike Lupica --Justin

Hero is about Billy whose Dad dies flying his plane. Billy knew his Dad did not die because of a bad engine. He was killed and Billy had to find the killer.

This book wasn't that good because it did not have as much action as I expected.
