The Tiger Rising By Kate Dicamillo

Rob and his dad moved to the Kentucky Star Motel in Florida after his mom died. During school he meets the new girl named Sistine.  One day he finds a tiger in the forest next to the motel.  All he thinks about is the tiger.  The principal of the school thinks that a rash on his legs is contaqious so he can't go.  Sistine visits him every day and he decides to show her the tiger.  She wants to set the tiger free. Will they let the tiger go?

This book is exciting and fun.  It is written differently than any other book I have read.  It makes you wonder what will happen next and the characters are unique because they are more serious.

The Fourth Stall By Chris Rylander

 In the story The Fourth Stall there's a boy named Mac. He and some of his friends solve problems for kids. In their "office" in the fourth stall, they give students solutions to many problems like how to take out your girlfriend for a date and also answers to their homework. I liked this book because there was a big problem that included gambling, a 4th grade dropout, and students who need protection that Mac and his team had to solve. Read the book to find out what it was!

Past Perfect by Leila Sales

Past Perfect is about a girl named Chelsea who wants to work at a mall, but her best friend Fiona convinces her to work at Essex, a reenactment village where people go to learn abuot the Civil War. When they get there for orientation, she sees Ezra, her ex-boyfriend. Chelsea was in love with Ezra, but he broke up with her. It hurt her so much that Fiona made her promise not to talk to him for at least three months. Chelsea meets a boy named Dan who works at Reencatment Land. Essex and Reenactment Land go to war. Chelsea has to choose between staying at Essex or leaving everything and being with Dan.
I like Past Perfect because it has romance and it's interesting.

A brother and sister named Whit and Wisty are taken into custody by The One. The One is in control of the country. He outlawed books, art, and literature and is now trying to kill Wisty. The One wants something from Wisty. In their prison cell Whit and Wisty discover their powers, the thing The One is after. They escape prison and meet the Resistance, a group of people who don't agree with The One or his rules. They decide to plan a war against The One.
I liked it because it had a lot of action and adventure. Also it was written really well.

The Dead Boys by Royce Buckingham

A boy named Teddy moves to a town in the middle of nowhere. When he gets there he spots a creepy willow tree next door. As the story goes on, he keeps meeting these boys in different situations who are in trouble. When he goes for help and returns, they disappear and the scene is completely different. He wonders what is happening to them.  I liked the book because it has action and gore to feed you until you're full.

In this book, there is a fairy named Prilla that has a special talent. When she blinks, she can go to different worlds. Prilla lives in Neverland, but when she blinks she goes to the Mainland, where we live. While she is on the Mainland, she meets four girls and accidentally brings them with her to Neverland. Now they have to figure out how to get them home to the Mainland. But the girls don't want to leave Neverland. Will they ever go home?
I don't usually like fun books because I get bored with them, but I liked this one. It was exciting because they didn't know that the magical world existed. I liked that the fairies and the four girls had a lot of fun in Neverland.

The Runaway King by Jennifer Nielson

 This book is about a king named Jaron who believes his country, Carthya, is going to be attacked by the neighboring country and the pirates that live there. Nobody believes Jaron, so he must find out for himself if there is going to be a war. He goes undercover and travels to the neighboring country. Once in the neighboring country, he infiltrates the pirates and becomes the Pirate King. After making peace with the pirates, he returns to his kingdom to find out shocking news.
I liked this book because of the mystery of trying to find out who made treason. I also liked the adventure, such as when Jaron must sword fight thieves to protect a little girl.

This is an adventure story about a boy named Blaise Fortune and his caretaker Gloria as they go to France to get away from war in Georgia as the USSR breaks up. I like stories where people are trying to survive.  It keeps you awake.  I also like books about orphans.  This book combines both.  That is why I like this book.

Whisper in the Dark by Joseph Bruchac

Warning: This Book gave me nightmares.

This scary and creepy story is about a Narragesett Indian girl who heard a legend about the Whisperer in the Dark who drinks blood from its victims.  Abby's ancestors locked it in a cave and put a spell on it for a thousand seasons.  Now it is loose and wants revenge on Abby.

If you like exciting and thrilling stories you should read Whisper in the Dark.

We Can't All Be Rattlesnakes by Patrick Jennings

We Can't All be Rattlesnakes is about a snake who is captures by a boy who keeps a lot of pets without taking care off them. It is all from the snake's point of view, so is very funny.  You get to see the snake's view of school, a house, and how humans live.

I loved this book.  It's funny and teaches you a lesson in the end.  It is good for points and a short good read that you will remember forever.

Endangered by Eliot Schrefer

Endangered by Eliot Schrefer is a realistic book about a girl named Sophie who buys a baby bonobo, a cousin of the ape species, on the side of a busy street in Congo. She names him Otto. Sophie went to Congo from the USA to visit her mother who has a bonobo sanctuary. When Sophie's mother leaves for another sanctuary, a violent revolution breaks out and Sophie must return to the USA. Her dad sends a plane for her, but she could not take Otto because he is an endangered species. She refused to leave him behind and when the car leaves she is forced to live in the wild with the rest of the bonobos. She decides to go look for her mother. Along the way she and Otto encounter big problems. 
I like this book because it gives you an idea of what Congo would be like. I also like that Sophie was so attached to Otto that she wouldn't leave him behind. It was heartwarming.

During the time of knights, lords, and kings, there is a boy named Will who is an orphan because his parents died. The choosing day comes to be picked as an apprentice by a craftsmaster. He is hoping that he will be picked by the battle master, but instead he is picked by the mysterious Ranger. A ranger is a person who gathers information about the enemy and reports back to the kingdom. At first Will is afraid of not pleasing the ranger, but he learns to trust him. Follow Will on his daring adventures at the ranger's apprentice. I liked this book because of the suspense and mystery in it. I recommend it to people who like adventure and mystery.

Janitors by Tyler Whitesides

I  like this book because it is very adventurous and mysterious.  I think you should read it.

A sixth grader named Spencer uses a bottle filled with special pink soap which allows him to see Toxites, creatures that distract students and keep them from learning.  During detention he meets two janitors and a member of a group that hires and fires them.  Someone wants to become a warlock to have even greater power.  Spencer gets pulled into the battle between good and evil to save the minds of his fellow students.

Mutiny in Time Infinity Ring Bk. 1 by James Dashner

Two Kids named Sera and Dak find a device that can take them into the past.  While testing it, Dak's parents disappear in time.  The kids discover an oragnization called the Historians that "fix" time.  They send the kids on a mission back to the time of Christopher Columbus.  What will happen next??

This is a great adventure story, exciting and new.  They are quick reads and have funny parts as well as serious.  I will never get tired of it.

More on The Maze Runner

 The book is about a boy named Thomas who winds up in the Box confused and scared with no memory except for his name. Outside the box is the Glade where there are lots of boys around his age who help guide him through his first few days. But outside the Glade, there is the Maze. Every night, the doors to the maze close, protecting the Gladers from the Grievers, mechanical, slug-like creatures that can kill. The day after he arrives, the first girl ever to come to the glade shows up. She has a message that surprises the Gladers. They have to find their way out of the maze before they all die.
I liked it because it's a serious, suspenseful, and fast-paced book. I also enjoyed this book because its like the Hunger Games. I think Hunger Games lovers will definitely love this book. It is set in a future world where the characters have to fight to survive.

The Island of Thieves by Josh Lacey

Tom's parents are going on vacation, but since Tom recently burned down a shed no one wants to watch after him. Finally, Tom's dad had no other option but to call Tom's uncle to see if he could watch after Tom. Gradually Tom's uncle Harvey agreed to watch after Tom. But as soon as Tom's parents drop him off at Uncle Harvey's house things get complicated. What Tom thought would be spending an entire week in New York turned out to be finding himself in a different country, meeting dangerous people, and eating fine tasting hamster.
This book was action-packed, full of adventures, and has a great mystery to it. Not only did I love this book for how well it was written, but I also loved the way the author described the themes and settings.

THE CASE OF THE DEADLY DESPERADOS By Caroline Lawrence

When PK's foster parents are murdered, he finds out that he now owns a very valuable letter. He doesn't know why it's worth so much, or why everyone wants it. Trying to hide it from everyone, PK goes to Virginia CIty, Nevada and he learns not to trust anyone. I loved the book The Case of the Deadly Desperados because it was funny, adventurous, and unpredictable. It was great for points too and you should definitely read it.

Professor Gargoyle by Charles Gilman

This book is about Robert on his first day of middle school. He tries to find a friend from his old elementary school. Instead all he finds is Glen, his old school bully. At his new school, he finds a book of spells in an attic, but he doesn't know the secrets behind the attic or behind the whole school.
I liked the book because it's mildly creepy and has a lot of suspense to it. When I was reading the book, I was always trying to figure out what would happen next in the book.

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

This book is about a boy named Thomas who wakes up with no memory in a small room called the box. In the town he wakes up in, called the Glade, he realizes all the people that live there are boys. The Glade is in the middle of a Maze and some boys, called runners, must run into the mazes all day to find a way out before dark or the evil half-robot, half-animal creatures will sting them. Everybody has to have a job and Thomas wants to be a runner to find a way out of the maze. Two days after Thomas arrived, another person arrived. She brings a weird message that leaves everybody shocked.
I liked the book because of the adventure. It is very suspenseful when Thomas has to fight off grievers, the evil stinging creatures who live in the maze. When you read it, it is so good that you can't put the book down.

A princess named Petunia gets kidnapped by a boy named Oliver. But what Oliver doesn't know is that Petunia is a princess. When he finds out who she is , he immediately lets her go. When the princess arrives at the grand duchess's home for a visit, she realizes she is in danger. Petunia gets tricked and her sisters follow her to save her and go into a place they never wanted to go. It turns out Petunia needs her kidnapper, Oliver, to save her.
I liked it because the author had a very good description of the characters and the setting. I liked the series from the start of Book 1. I'm excited for the next book of the series.

I loved this book because it was full of action and adventure. You get to follow Egg on his thrilling adventure to save the one he loves from Mr. Pembroke.

This book is about an organization that tries to save the from Armstrong Fantasy Gift Corporation (AFGC). Nanobots are small mechanic creatures that can brainwash people. Biots are half flesh, half robotic. AFGC is trying to take over the world while Bzrk is trying to save it. Read the book to find out who wins.
I liked it because there was an adventrue that was long and there was a lot of risks in the book. This book is long and complicates. Make sure you are mature enough to read it. Also, pay attention to the story.

This book is about a Jewish boy named Karl Stern. He is being bullied and his beliefs and family are being discriminated against. He meets his idol,  German boxer named Max and Max offers him free boxing lessons. He takes them and during that time he is growing into a man and growing more mature. In the end, will he be able to protect his family from the Nazi's or will he fail?
I like the book because it teaches you to have patience and control your emotions. It also has suspense and sadness.

This book is about a girl, Hazel, with a best friend, Jack. Because Jack and Hazel get into a fight, Jack stops talking to Hazel. When Hazel asks where Jack is, his parents claim he is at his aunt's house. However, Jack's friend sees him go away with a woman with transparent skin wearing a lot of animal furs who appeared from a snow tornado. Hazel makes a decision to go after Jack in the woods, where she sees a lot of weird creatures. I like this book because of Hazel's adventures and all the strange things that happen to her.

This book is about a boy named Taemon and his family.  They live in an area called the city where all the people who possess psi live.  Psi is a power that you control with your mind.  After Taemon's brother Yens, puts them both in mortal danger twice, Taemon almost kills Yens.  Because of the attempted murder, Taemon looses his Psi and must move to the colony, where psi-less people live.  There he meets a girl named Amma.  He finds out something shocking about her.  With that shocking news, they both go back to the city to stop Yens, his now evil brother.

I liked it because it's really adventurous like when Yens tries to drown Taemon. I also liked when Taemon learns the truth albout the crazy old lady that lives in the colony.

The Spindlers by Lauren Oliver

This is an adventurous story about a girl named Liza.  A couple years ago her babysitter told her a story about spider looking, soul eating spindlers.  Liza knows that her brother Patrick's soul has been taken by the spindlers.  Once dark, she goes underground to rescue her brother's soul where she meets a talking rat named Mirabella.  Togther they search the underworld for Liza's brother.

It has a lot of adventure when Liza and Mirabella flight the Sivens, who want to eat them.  I liked the imaginary world Lauren pu into the book.
