Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

Ender Wiggins, a forbidden third child, is living on Earth in the future and is believed to be a genus.  When he is sent to Battle School he is unknowingly expected to save the world.  At school, he proves to be the best fighter and smartest leader despite his young age.  Along the way, he makes a lot of eniemies and realizes fighting doesn't matter because the battles are just a game.  Throughout the war he never wants to hurt anybody and the enimies are really friends.

Ender's Game is an exciting book because it's very unpredictable.  There are many unexpected changes, like when Ender decides not to fight and go on with battles, even though it's against the rules.  In addition, it's funny and adventurous because the people are goofy and there is a lot of action.
