Sound Bender by Lin Oliver

Sound Bender is about a boy named Leo and his brother Hollis. Their parents died in an airplane accident and their new guardian is their step-uncle who buys and sells rare artifacts. Leo finds out on his 13th birth day that he has the special power to hear the past of artifacts. It’s kind of like he’s watching a movie without the picture. He finds a helmet in his uncle’s warehouse and it is lined with barbed wire and has needles that drill into something’s head. Leo finds out that the helmet was strapped to the heads of dolphins for Russian war purposes. He finds his dad’s colleague who runs a dolphin reserve for scientific purposes and steals the helmet and starts looking for a way to make sure that these horrific experiments never happen again. Read to find out the whole story. I liked this book because it is interesting. The way he can use this power is very helpful and it is a page turner. I recommend this book to all good readers. This book will have you hungry for more.
